Neil Austin has 40 years of experience in Personal Injury and Medical Negligence cases. He is a partner at Gordon Dean Solicitors and Head of the Clinical Negligence Department. Neil manages, and is based in, our Great Yarmouth office but is willing to visit clients anywhere.

Amongst Neil’s many strengths is his ability to develop great empathy and trust with his clients. Neil approaches every case with the same enthusiasm and determination, from minor accidents to high-value complicated injury cases. He has completed many cases for victims of accidents and medical negligence in Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich over the past 26 years, winning compensation for clients up to £800,000.

In dealing with every sort of accident at work in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, Neil has considerable knowledge and experience of work-related upper limb disorders, including Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other RSI injury. In that time he has completed a number of fatal accident cases in Lowestoft, including Mesothelioma and Asbestos compensation claims, and deaths arising from working in confined spaces and from medical negligence.

Neil supports and is involved in a number of local animal rescue centres and The Stroke Association. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, dedicated to achieving justice for injured people.

Kate works at our Great Yarmouth office, assisting fee earners. She has helped in winning settlements on a variety of cases, including Clinical Negligence, Employment, Probate and Personal Injury. Kate studied for her Master’s degree in Law at Aberystwyth University and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2009. In June 2016 she became a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).

Kate was part of the team that raised £172,650 for charity during Free Wills Month in 2012. She is keen to make the law accessible to everyone. When she’s not in the office, Kate runs a free online legal explanations forum. Kate is also writing a series of guides, translating English law into plain English.
